Video is taking content marketing by storm, and small businesses who ignore it do so at their peril.
According to Cisco, by 2017, video will account for 69% of all consumer internet traffic. Video-on-demand traffic alone will have almost trebled. However, some believe video will account for around 80%. Either way it’s growing and growing fast.
In fact it’s forecasted that 64% of marketers expect video to dominate their strategies in the near future. Small businesses who don’t start implementing video in their marketing strategies will be left behind.
When you look at potential reach, all you have to do is look at YouTube, YouTube receives more than a billion unique visitors every month. The only channel that receives more is Facebook.
If you look at the UK alone, one in three Britons view at lest one online video a week. That’s a weekly audience of more than 20 million.
Video is naturally engaging, and in the age of information overload it’s important to offer your visitors content that’s easy to digest, otherwise customers will simply move on. If you think that a picture paints a thousand words then a one minute video is worth 1.8 million, according Forrester’s researchers, but you can see what I’m getting at.
So is video really possible for small businesses?
Video production costs have fallen in recent years. I’m sure you won’t have to look too far to find s quality video production company at affordable prices.
What should you consider when setting out to produce a video?
It’s vital to always think of your audience you are trying to reach, make sure the video is relevant to them.
When publishing your video, make sure you share it through multiple social media channels, people love to like and share so make it easy for your customers to find it. Be creative, not just with the videos but also in the campaign strategy.
So is video marketing already part of your online strategy?
